Presenting ‘A View of God that Connects!’

It is our commitment to establish an environment that connects people first with God. We’ve got great news … ‘God Loves You!’ If God had a fridge your picture would be on it. The Bible teaches that God formed you while you were in your mother’s womb. God has a plan for you to prosper. God loves you so much that He sent His Son to die for your sin. We want to connect you to the love of God.

We want to connect you to your need of God. This happens when we are connected to the reality that we are all sinners in need of a Saviour. We all have weaknesses that God wants to turn into strength when we confess them to God.

We want to connect your with people. Matthew 22:37-39, says to love God with all your being and the second commandment is this: “Love your neighbor as yourself!” We don’t believe you have been created to love God and God alone. God has designed us to exist, function and grow in fellowship with one another. So the church really does have a relevant function in the 21st century.

We want to connect you to a blueprint for living. The Bible teaches us about us about morality, love, justice and purpose. Our purpose is outlined in our Mission Statement. This is a quick glimpse into who we are.

// WHAT WE BELIEVE …

1. Salvation is a free gift of God. All have sinned, but all can be saved. This salvation is available for any who
put their trust in Jesus Christ as Savior.

2. The Bible is God’s perfect guidebook for living.

3. Jesus is God showing himself to us.

4. In holy living, the present day reality of the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4, the gifts of the
Holy Spirit, and the Lord’s super-natural healing of the human body.

5. Grace is the only way to have a relationship with God.

6. Faith is the only way to grow in our relationship with God.

7. God has allowed evil to provide us with a choice, God can bring good even out of evil events and God
promises victory over evil to those who choose Him.

8. Heaven and Hell are real places. Death is a beginning, not the end.

9. The church is to serve people like Jesus served people.

10. Jesus is coming again!

// BABY DEDICATION …

What is Baby Dedication?

Baby dedication is a public commitment of parents to godly parenting which includes the following:

1. Affirming your personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (John 3:16).

2. Renewing your commitment to each other as husband and wife (Ephesians 5:21-33).

3. Expressing thankfulness to God for His blessing (Psalm 30:12).

4. Recognizing the responsibility of stewardship that God has entrusted you with (Matthew 25:14-30).

5. Praying daily for God’s direction in your lives and the life of your child (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

6. Faithfully bringing your child to celebrate the Lord in worship on Sundays as a family (Hebrews 10:25).

7. Teaching your child by word and example the truths of God’s Word in your home (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

8. Seeking to lead your child to a personal faith in Jesus as soon as he/she is ready (Mark 10:13-16).

9. Loving your child with much affection and careful discipline (Ephesians 6:4).

Baby Dedication is both a commitment and celebration. We pray that this will be a special day for your family. If you are interested in having your child dedicated or have any questions, please contact us. We will let you know when the next baby dedication is happening.

// WATER BAPTISM …

There is no greater life journey than that of a Christ follower. Answering the call to follow Christ throughout the whole of one’s life is an invitation to declare to the on looking world that I not only believe in Christ but that I belong to him and his family. One of the earliest declarations of believing in and belonging to Him is best demonstrated when one is baptized in water.

So just exactly what is water baptism? Water baptism is the public act of being immersed in water as a declaration of my faith in Christ’s death, burial and resurrection on my behalf. It is also a declaration that I have joined my self to the body of Christ, those fellow Christ followers.

Jesus commanded us to be baptized (Matt.28:18-20 & Mark 16:15) ; the early church practiced water baptism (Acts 2:38-41; 8:12-16; 9:18; 10:47; 19:1-5) and continues to do so right up to our present day.

Water baptisms have taken on such meaning and significance here at RidgeView as our entire congregations joins in worship to God and celebration with those individuals who are being baptized. It is a powerful expression and experience of community right here in our midst.

// PRAYER TEAMS …

Ministry at Ridgeview is done in teams, including pastoral and lay leadership, through the hands and feet of the many volunteers who help carry out the ministry. Prayer teams partner with these ministry teams, actively supporting the ministries in prayer.

Prayer Teams are being formed for:
1. Elders, Pastors, Ministry Directors
2. Weekend Services
3. Each RVCC Ministry
4. Crisis needs, member needs, community outreach

RidgeView has many ministry prayer groups who meet for prayer throughout the week, and also many special prayer opportunities throughout the year. Please feel free to visit our ‘Events’ area for more details.

Also, please make use of our ‘Contact Us‘ page if you have a prayer request you would like our prayer teams to offer up in prayer. All prayer requests will be kept confidential except for our active ministry prayer teams.

It Starts in the Garden

03.17.13 – At creation we were placed in the Garden. After the fall we were expelled from the Garden. When Jesus walked the earth he sought refuge, time and again in the garden for prayer. He led the disciples to the Garden. He was arrested in the Garden. He was buried in a tomb in the garden near were he was crucified. Today’s sermon answers the question, ‘Why the Garden?’

The Parents of Moses

Father Abraham

02.17.13 – Perhaps my focus today is not a traditional one when it comes to a study on Abram. Abram was asked to move and was given many wonderful promises of what would happen if he was faithful. Today’s sermon looks at his obedience and blessing. Sometimes our blessing isn’t realized, but is reserved for the second, third, or fourth generations to come. Thinking about how my obedience today could impact generations of Lee’s to come. Wow!
